Sila-e-Fun Program

Sila-e-Fun Program – The Government of Pakistan has created a Sila-e-Fun program for artists who are skilled in any work and above 50 years of age. Punjab’s social protection policy has identified income insecurity among the elderly & disabled as one of the challenges facing Punjab.

India, Bangladesh & other countries in the region began creating such schemes in the 1990s. Therefore, if the state wants to take care of the elderly, it must establish a cash transfer scheme for the elderly.

According to ILO Recommendations 202 (2023), the objective of social security is to guarantee that all people over 65 years of age have a basic income. Pakistan is the only country in the group that does not have a social income scheme for senior citizens.
